Love Never Gives Up
To love means to suffer oneself. Dying to yourself. Such a deep and scary definition of what love is. But the truth is to love, we need to give up ourselves-our pride, our ego. It takes patience and humbleness to understand the person’s heart, to see what other can’t see, to love what others can’t understand, to accept what can’t and to listen to the unspoken heart. During this lenten season, we have been asked to reflect on our faith. Through the sorrow and mourning in daily life my faith has grown constantly. I always been reminded how unworthy I am as the sinner that God has to given up His only son for me. It sounds crazy and nonsense at first but as I willing to share the cup of suffering with Him by abstaining myself from my desire to the point where I no longer need them, I have been given opportunity to understand the depth meaning of suffering and His cross. He taught me how to love perfectly in His guidance.
To love means to never give up because love contains patience, kindness, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, not self-seeking, not easily angered, keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Corinthians 13).
Enough to understand that above faith, hope and love-love is the greatest. As it requires actions to suffer and abstain in my own desire. and Therefore, it is no longer I who lives in me but God.
In this journey, let us take one moment to reflect on our faith by loving ourselves, our spouse, our family and those are meant to you. By saying “Thank you” “I Love you” and “I am Sorry” it would restore what we call humanity.
